Winter Blues

27 Feb

I recently attended a dental school classmate’s wedding. Admittedly, it was one of the first weddings I’ve attended that wasn’t my parents’ friend or a relative, but my friend. Lately though, it seems like almost every week someone is getting engaged…hopefully that means more wedding fun is coming up ;)

I decided to go for a more modest look that would be appropriate for a church wedding. I love wearing tights during the winter; it makes everything seem a bit more put together with the added benefit of warmth. They also break up the snake-skin heels and the busyness of the floral nicely.

The wedding took place near my alma mater, so B and I took a detour from the wedding festitivites to stroll the beautiful campus. It was really nice to visit and show him where I spent four amazing years of my life.

Friday’s Favorites

22 Feb

Since graduating dental school and getting married, I’ve realized how fast time is flying by. It’s hard to believe that I’ve already hit a few milestones that you spend your whole life dreaming about. And for this exact reason, I’ve tried to slow down, be present, and appreciate the seemingly mundane things in life. It’s taken me a while to understand that not everything has to be a momentous occasion to be significant. Even some fresh flowers that brighten a room or a gift from a loved one can be special and meaningful.

So without further ado, these are are a few of my favorite things I’m loving this week…

Fresh flowers, an ethnic-inspired frame of B and me, a votive and lava lamp from B’s bachelor days (I have come to accept it for its vintage vibe)

A glass serving tray gifted by my mom adds a little color to my black & white kitchen, and chocolate covered almonds that are little pieces of heaven

New Dolce Vita oxfords I can’t wait to dress up and down this Spring.

What are some things you’re appreciating and loving in your life?
